There are no chances of the polymer drying off and researchers are trying that this can work for the benefit of the people. The material is light which makes it possible to use in batteries and extend the life of batteries.

The material has been developed by the scientists and they have been trying to make it since the last three years. It is made up of iconic salt and stretchable polymer and the use of this has not yet started in any of the service centres until now. There are still some conditions that are needed to be checked by the scientists. They want to test the substance under harsh conditions and how it would work in those conditions. It has to be put in real world applications soon and with that, people would not have to worry at all about cracks in their iPhone screens. The previous self-healing polymers, which have been introduced, could not work in harsh conditions and the scientists are in question whether this would work or not.

The polymer should be able to generate human heat and electricity so that it can work properly. The mechanical properties of the screen and phone cannot be changed by the polymer but it can surely help people to heal their phones in their homes itself and they would not have to search for service centres anywhere. It has been expected to be started by the end of this year.
